Early Career Students: Neurodivergent and Autistic

All youth deserve employment opportunities with a good match to their strengths so they can perform on-the-job capabilities in inclusive, psychologically safe environments. When a young person leaves high school or college, it can be overwhelming and scary. As the world has become more uncertain, it is more difficult than ever to navigate through obstacles toward goals. That’s where I come in.

I have been working and coaching with early career students who are neurodivergent, autistic, and disabilities now for 30 years. My unique exclusive method and tools are based upon the empowerment model of disability, social model of disability, interdependence model, and self-advocacy.

The heart and soul of my Self-advocacy and Career coaching begins with honoring my client first by listening to their goals, dreams and what is working for them. Secondly, I seek to understand their challenges and emotions that get in their way of progress. Thirdly, it is my intention to help youth discover how to take part in their own rescue when obstacles arise and to know how to seek help from trusted persons. This is ultimately self-advocacy. My exclusive tools can be found only with my Self-advocacy and Career coaching program. I use these tools to assist the student/young adult to pinpoint and evaluate the right career tasks in order to best choose a well suited job or career.

I schedule client one-to-one sessions to meet on zoom. I accept working with all students and their family, carers, or mentors. My specialty is with students who are neurodivergent or autistic and on all levels. Lastly, my work is based upon The Art of Interdependence Work and Inclusion Model: Neurodivergent and Autistic Persons.
