Welcome to Careers: Self-expression in Interests and Talents.

This product can be used as a google app or a pdf student independent work packet beneficial for teachers and parents during distance learning. It is drawn from Emotional Literacy to student self-awareness in taking a career inventory of interests and strengths. After you purchase and download the pdf, go to the second slide and you will see the google link.  This resource includes a self-assessment beneficial to the student for developing clarity for career choices that meet the student’s interests. The content is engaging and informal for youth to see their interests and best strengths/talents that can be transferred into career options. Like all of my resources, this product was drawn and created from the findings of 15 years of qualitative research.

1. How does it work?

2. Objectives

3. How Does Self-expression in Interests and Talents Meet Common Core Standard

============================================

1. How does it work?

The student completes the Answer Sheet.

Next the student completes Answer Key (matching answers from Answer Sheet). The student receives individualized ideas and career options that match h-her interest. The possibilities for students is presented in 7 levels: volunteer, hobby, self-employment, jobs, certification/training, college, and careers with advanced degrees.

2. Objectives:

a. Student will read the numbered item, example, or scenario.

b. The student will consider the item and decide if it applies to h-her. For example the numbered item reflects the student’s:

-self-expression in interests or talent.

-past experience or interest that was motivating.

-interest to pursue learning more about the career and possibly choosing it for career exploration.

c. The student will check ‘applies to me’, if it applies to h-her or leave the item blank (as it does not apply to h-her). The student then moves to the next numbered item.
